Cross carried through Wexford town

For the fifth year running Canon Arthur Minion, rector of Wexford and Kilscoran Union, walked barefoot through Wexford town on Good Friday carrying a heavy wooden cross.

Starting from St Iberius Church at noon, he walked to Selskar Abbey where he gave a reading of ‘The Suffering Servant’.

Those gathered  then returned to St Iberius Church for the reading of the Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ.

“There was a bigger crowd this year,” Canon Arthur said afterwards. “People were saying that the procession pulled people in as we went along the street.”
