Leighlin Pilgrimage to Echternach – presentation to Irish Ambassador to Luxembourg

His Excellency, Mr Peadar Carpenter, the Irish Ambassador to Luxembourg hosted a reception in Echternach Youth Hostel for the pilgrims from Cashel, Ferns & Ossory, Leighlin & Kildare following in the footsteps of St Willibrord.

The talented Presentation Band gave a rousing performance of the National Anthem and the ‘local anthem’ Follow Me Up To Carlow , pilgrims at the event say.   Cathaoirleach, Cllr John Murphy brought greetings from Carlow County Council and the Ambassador, on behalf of the Irish government, acknowledged the role of the two Bishops, Burrows and Nulty, in building bridges of peace and co-operation for the common good.
