Radio Programme about Route 66

  Posted on   by   No comments

Listen in to South East Radio tonight at 8.30 p.m. to the Christian Media Trust’s Faith Matters series and you will hear the Venerable Ruth Elmes’ excellent programme about Bishop Burrows’ Route 66 preachathon and book.

The reflections relate to the empowerment of women through literacy based on each book of the Bible – hence the title Route 66.

She will include many reflections from the book of mini-sermons and has added music to suit so you can enjoy stories and insights into the empowerment of women through literacy and more.

Bishop Burrows raised €40,000 for women’s literacy projects in the Congo and Ethiopia in 2017 with his Bishops’ Appeal preachaton that saw him visit churches and schools across the Diocese of Cashel, Ferns and Ossory and deliver a five- minute reflection on the topic of the empowerment of women through literacy at each venue.

Copies of the Route 66 book are available in Wexford town at the Cenacle Bookshop and at the Book Centre and from the Diocesan Office in Kilkenny.

Congratulations to Ruth Elmes, recently appointed Archdeacon of Ossory and Leighlin.
