Diocesan Magazine - Mothers Union

Our Diocesan President writes:

Dear Fellow Members,

General Synod in Kilkenny – congratulations to everyone involved in the organisation of this tremendous event; the MU display was excellent and we were delighted to welcome Margaret Crawford, All Ireland President to Kilkenny.

We send good wishes to Rev. Denis & Lesley Sandes as they move to Clifden.  Lesley has been an invaluable member of the Diocesan team of Mothers Union and will be greatly missed.

The Prayer Walk, organised by Bettie Wilkinson, Faith & Policy Coordinator was a lovely occasion and enjoyed by everyone.  Members from throughout the Diocese travelled to Ballymore on 30th May where we were welcomed by Mrs. Mgt. Donovan. The walk through the quiet countryside accompanied by readings and prayer was very special and the event concluded with a tour of the Family History Museum and tea.  We are now preparing for the General Meeting to be held in Liverpool in June.  We appreciate this event being included in the Diocesan Cycle of Prayer. The Theme for 2008 is to be “Time for Relationships” and I hope Branches will be able to develop this when preparing their Annual Programme. In the meantime I hope everyone has an enjoyable and safe summer.

Phyllis.
