As these notes go to print, the Revd Elaine Murray and the Revd Gunilla Aquilon-Elmqvist are in Lünd attending the International Conference and enjoying the hospitality of the diocese of Lünd. (See Report of same)

The Revd Torvild and her parish choir of 21 members spent the weekend of 1st-3rd September in the Kilcooley/Cashel area. They sang beautifully at the opening of the flower Festival in Kilcooley on Friday night. The enjoyment of those who attended was enhanced by the translation of the songs by the Revd Torvild. They enjoyed an impromptu party in the Rectory afterwards!

They stayed in a hostel in Cashel and spent Saturday in the company of the Dean. Their time in Cashel included a visit to the Rock and the Brú Boru where they sang.  Sunday began with them singing at the early Eucharist in the Cathedral and they then spent some time sightseeing and visiting Tramore.

They returned to Kilcooley to take part in the Songs of Praise and returned to Sweden on Monday evening.

While the choir was in Co. Tipperary, another group from Lünd were visiting Wexford, Waterford, Cashel and Kilkenny. Among them were the Revd Lars Eric Axelsson and some others who have visited us in the past six years.

At the moment, the diocese of Lünd is in the process of electing a successor to Bishop Christina who will retire in February 2007. The initial preparatory selection of ten candidates who will be considered in the final election has taken place. Please pray for those who will be a part of this important process.
