Kaleidoscope

Kaleidoscope all age fun day Kilkenny

25th September, Kilkenny College, 10.00am - 4.30pm

Kaleidoscope is a Diocesan all age fun day celebrating the international year of the family. It has been organised by the Mothers Union, the Girls Friendly Society, the Boy's Brigade and the Diocesan Youth Officer and is for all members of the Diocese young and old.

Kaleidoscope promises to be a brilliant fun filled day with more than enough variety to suit all tastes.

The Format

Participant are encouraged to form teams of between 2 - 7 people which are composed of a mixture of ages, tastes and experience. After registration, teams will complete a number of tasks and challenges to gain points. Extra points will be given to teams with a mixture of age groups to encourage all age participation. The cost is only €10 per team

In the afternoon there will be a range of workshops covering topics as diverse as calligraphy, drama, puppetry, public speaking, parenting skills, Sunday School teaching, church music and much more ….. There will also be childrens games for the younger participants.

The afternoon will conclude with an all age closing act of worship.

The Venue Kaleidoscope takes place at Kilkenny College, Castlecomer road, Kilkenny. Kilkenny College is the Diocesan School and provides excellent facilities.

It is located just after the Newpark Hotel as one drives out of the Kilkenny on the road to Castlecomer.

Why Kaleidoscope A Kaleidoscope is a pattern of many colours and within the Diocesan family there are a huge range of people, ages, interests and faith experience. Kaleidoscope aims to celebrate the diversity that we have as a Diocesan family.

It is a cross organisation venture, coordinated by the Mothers Union, Girls Friendly Society and the Diocesan Youth Officer, with the help of the Boys Brigade and many other Diocesan organisations.

Childcare Facilities Childcare facilities are available on request from the local Montessori school.

Booking a MealThose wishing to book a meal should book in advance by 15 September but please feel free to bring a packed lunch. Please note that meals will only be provided for those who have booked in advance.

Tea, coffee and refreshments will be available on site

The Workshops The afternoon workshops will offer something to suit all tastes ... calligraphy, puppetry, public speaking, drama, parenting, grand parenting, children's games, prayer and meditation, hymn sing along, sunday school resources and teaching methods and ,much more ........

The Games There are over 30 challenges and tasks for each team to attempt in the morning ranging from the simple to the more challenging, and the sedate to the more exhilarating.Guaranteed to have something for everybody
