Puppet Training Day: Saturday 20th March 2004

Background:
We have a group of eight Teenagers (13-16's) who prepare and conduct of our
children's club every second Saturday Morning. They are led by two adults,
and a few more adults come along and help every second Saturday Morning when
the 4-11's come along. We use video, games, crafts, puppets action songs
and drama to present Bible stories. Their primary training was by assisting
Crosslinks with two summer holiday clubs over the past two summers, and then
continuing by developing what they learnt and experienced every second week.
They meet to prepare and practice every week for two hours.
Last October and November we conducted similar training/seminars as part of
our link diocese exchange and the Sunday School Society Training day
'Building Blocks' in Dublin.

The Plan for the 20th of March is as follows:
From 10am - 12noon we have our children's club and are inviting people come
to observe what happens (numbers limited for this as there is not much extra
space for people to observe as our hall is quite small).

12.15 - 13.15 Presentation on Solas Puppet Team, Children's Ministry in
Clonenagh and Creative Communication.
13.15 - 14.00 Lunch (Bring a Packed Lunch, drinks provided).
14.00 - 16.00 Practical Puppet Seminar & hands on training.
16.00 - 16.20 Coffee.
16.20 - 17.00 Summing up, questions, review resources, etc.

You need to book by the 15th of March if you want to come or bring a small
group along. Charge: €5 per person to cover costs. This would be suitable
for anyone who is 14 - 99 years and interested in Children's Ministry /
Sunday School / Puppet Ministry.
