"Dear God, help me to pray, pray yourself in me." (Francois de la Mothe Fernelon) Prayer has been described as a conversation between two people that love each other. There is nothing that the Church can do successfully unless it is under girded by prayer to God the Father through Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit. As a Diocese we are called to commit all our work to prayer. Please help & pray for us as we work to further God's Kingdom that His Holy Spirit will guide and care for us in all the occupations & cares of our daily life.
On Sundays we generally use one of three patterns of worship: Eucharist, morning prayer or service of the word which are authorized for use by the general synod of the Church of Ireland. Hymns may be sung and there is always a Bible reading usually accompanied by a sermon or address. Worship may be led by the parish priest and in many churches, lay readers also participate.
