Prayers for use by children to read at a church service are best kept very simple and can be read by different people. This enables everyone to play a part. Younger children can hold up posters/drawings depicting the subject of the prayer or light candels as each prayer is read.

This year the song "Father I place into your hands" will be sung during the prayers as a response. Prayers should be simple one or two sentence lines

The relevant theme for each prayer can be chosen from the appropriate verse.

For example ....

Minister: Let us Pray for the needs of the world and each other singing:

Father, I place into Your hands
the things that I can’t do.
Father, I place into Your hands
the times that I’ve been through.
Father, I place into Your hands
the way that I should go,
for I know I always can trust You

Dear God, bless our family and friends and help us to be more like your Son Jesus.

Lord hear our prayer ....

Father, I place into Your hands
my friends and family.
Father, I place into Your hands
the things that trouble me.
Father, I place into Your hands
the person I would be,
for I know I always can trust You.

Dear God, help us to follow you and listen to your voice. We pray for our schools and teachers, for all our friends and family, for our government and all in positions of responsibility

Lord hear our prayer ...

Father, we love to seek Your face,
we love to hear Your voice.
Father, we love to sing Your praise,
and in Your name rejoice.
Father, we love to walk with You
and in Your presence rest,
for we know we always can trust You.

Dear God, we pray for Bishop Peter and those who work in the Church. We pray for all who are lonely, sad or feel they have no friends and we remember all those who are sick or in hospital.

Lord hear our prayer ...

Father, I want to be with You
and do the things You do.
father, I want to speak the words
that You are speaking too.
Father, I want to love the ones
that You will draw to You,
for I know that I am one with You.

The minister may add additional prayers if necessary and the Lord's prayer is said in conclusion.
