Saturday 13th September
Pioneering and Monasticism
Past, Present, Pilgrimage and Possibilities
On Saturday the 13th of September we will be holding a reflective day at Kilcooley Abbey, church and monastic site.
There will be reflections and discussions on the themes of new monasticism, contemplative pioneering, and engaging with pilgrimage.
We will have a walk round the monastic site and reflect on its particular history, spanning from the Cistercians to the Palatines and the present day. We will also think about the functions of a monastic community, how the buildings reflect that, and how we are or might minister to the world in light of this.
There will be plenty of space for sharing and discussion.
📅 Time & Gathering
We will gather from 10.30am and start at 11.00am.
🥪 Food
The event will be catered — so if you want to come along, please let us know by signing up on the Community of Brendan the Navigator Facebook page or by texting 087 6194733.
🙏 Closing
We aim to finish around 3.00pm with a short prayer service.
