A New Chapter for St. Anne’s, Cappoquin
In the changing rural landscape of modern Ireland, the Church of Ireland Diocese of Cashel, Ferns and Ossory, within the Lismore Union of Parishes, Co. Waterford, is seeking to make a meaningful difference in its local community.
After much prayer and reflection, the parishioners of St. Anne’s Church, Cappoquin, have made the courageous decision to cease regular Sunday worship in their church. With the exception of major annual festivals, parishioners will now join with others for worship at St. Carthage’s Cathedral, Lismore.
This significant step has been taken to make space for an exciting new Pioneer Ministry based at St. Anne’s — led by Ross Barrett, a newly appointed Church of Ireland Pioneer Minister. Ross is actively building relationships, reaching out, and serving people in the local area, with the long-term hope of gathering a new worshipping community.
This ministry represents a renewed expression of church — one that seeks to offer ongoing support, nurture faith and hope, and build resilience within the community.
🎥 In this video, Ross shares his sense of vocation and calling to this area, and tells the story of how this new ministry emerged through the vision of Dean Paul Draper and Bishop Adrian Wilkinson.
