Children & Families Ministry — CFO
What a morning, what a celebration, what inspiration!
Carolyn Good writes
Today I had the joy of being in church as Bishop Wilkinson joined Archdeacon Alec and the congregation of St Brigid’s Church, Ballintubbert (Stradbally Union), for a truly special occasion.
We gathered to see the newly refurbished and genuinely impressive Sunday Club room and vestry. We celebrated the baptism of baby Hannah. We listened to the children of the Sunday Club as they shared what they learned about Jesus as King. We sang together with guitar accompaniment, adding warmth and life to the service.
Carolyn spoke beautifully about the role of the CFM Representative in the diocese. Bishop Wilkinson unveiled the special plaque gifted to the diocese in honour of 250 years of children’s and youth ministry in Ireland. He also drew our attention to the east window, explaining how it depicts Jesus as King in many roles a striking visual reminder of faith at work.
After the service, we enjoyed tea and fellowship while the children planted spring bulbs as part of the diocesan pollinator project.
It was an uplifting and inspiring day one that affirmed the dedication of a parish and team deeply committed to ministry, especially in their care and focus on children and young people.
