A new bench in the grounds of the Diocesan Office has been dedicated to Mrs Denise Hughes for her long and dedicated service as Diocesan Secretary. She held this role from 1986 to 2020, retiring last December although her overall involvement as Bishop’s Secretary goes back as far as 1976.
On a joyful day at the Diocesan Office to mark the launch of the all-colour Diocesan Magazine (Denise’s idea) Bishop Michael Burrows invited her to sit on her wooden bench for the first time.
The brass plate inscription reads: Presented with gratitude and admiration for the immense and devoted work of Denise Hughes, Diocesan Secretary 1986-2020
Congratulations Denise!
