Last Sunday, a large congregation gathered at St. Laserian’s Cathedral in Old Leighlin to bid farewell to Dean Tom Gordon. Bishop Walton Empey, a close friend of long-standing, delivered a sermon and extended warm wishes for Dean Gordon’s retirement. Following the service, parishioners, ecumenical guests and Bishop Michael Burrows (returning in a personal capacity to his former diocese) spoke of Dean Tom’s remarkable dedication, enthusiasm, strength and courage while wishing him well on his retirement.
