Recording for Pentecost service continues

And so it continues – the Pentecost plan is coming together. Last night saw the recording of two canticles sung by the Fun & Fellowship choir in Gorey Group of Parishes in Hollyfort Church.

The two canticles will be included in the special audio-visual service of Evening Prayer that will take place in one church/school in each union/group of parishes in the Diocese on Saturday night, June 8th 2019.

Many thanks to organizer, Lesley Bailey, and to all choir members for being involved last night.

Next on the list is the recording the new hymn written by organist and composer Henry Percival ‘Together In One Place‘. This is taking place in Ferns Cathedral this weekend.

The filmed re-enactment has been edited and is ready for inclusion with lots more images in the special pre-recorded service that will  include voices from all over the diocese.

The service will also include key phrases from the pool of sermons and reflections submitted by clergy and readers at the beginning of this two-years-in-the-planning project.

A special feature will be the Bishop opening the service via FB live.

Holding the service in their school general purpose room may be simpler for some parishes because of whiteboard and WIFI availability but it is up to each what they prefer to do.  A screen and projector will be needed.

The service takes place at 8 p.m. on June 8th 2019.

The posters and flyers will be ready soon – watch this space!

We were delighted to receive Priorities funding for this creative project so excellent quality is guaranteed.

It has been a wonderful experience so far. While there is still some recording of excerpts to be done that will be happening over the next couple of weeks.

Rectors will soon get all technical information necessary for showing the service.  We hope that it will be an enjoyable and sociable occasion across the Diocese – one that brings us all together at the one time for the one purpose.
