Following a request from the Bishop of Kildare and Leighlin, the Most Reverend Denis Nulty, Bishop Michael Burrows has asked that all clergy in the diocese of Leighlin ring their church bells for three minutes at 11 a.m. tomorrow, St Patrick’s Day, as a sign of hope and social solidarity in the face of the coronavirus pandemic.
“Indeed this is a piece of community witness which clergy in other parts of our diocese might also wish to follow, ” Bishop Burrows adds, “in particular if it is part of a local ecumenical endeavour.”
